American Red Cross First Aid with CPR/AED - Adult, trains participants
to recognized ad care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac
emergencies in adults and provides the knowledge and skills needed
to care for injury or sudden illness until professional medical
help arrives. Training complements adult learning styles with
hands-on practice and real-life scenarios while take-away materials
serve as excellent refresher tools after training is complete.
This comprehensive course meets training guidelines for first
aid programs established by the Occupational Safety and Health
Administration.
Topics covered include:
- Recognizing and respond to an emergency.
- How to care for a person who is choking.
- Checking an unconscious person for life-threatening and non-life-threatening
conditions.
- Recognizing and caring for a person who is not breathing.
- How to care for a heart attack and how to give CPR.
- Using and AED and identifying precautions when using and AED.
- Identifying the signs and symptoms of sudden illness, including
stroke, diabetic emergency, poisoning and allergic reactions and
care for them.
- Controlling bleeding.
Recognizing and caring for heat- and cold-related emergencies.
